Resistance

I really dont know if I should make this blog long or short because it's 2AM and I want to watch some porn before go to sleep, lol. So you might want to ask:" Come one, what kind of f*&%king ideas that popped out of your head in middle of the night?" Resistance. I just finished watching disc 14th of a Chinese series about the king of Qing dynasty and it makes me think a lot. I think that how we can become so hard headed? I think about how it's so hard for us, people to have a different point of view about certain thing in life. Therefore I want to share with all of you and hope that anybody who reads this blog will understand and agree with me.

The story said that at that time, in China taxes were taken according to how many people you had in your family. It raised many problems for the country because rich people who mostly owned a large number of lands would only pay the same tax with someone who did not even have any land at all. Therefore the king decided to put the tax base on the land that they have and the money that he could have collected increase almost 40%. However he met a lot of resistance from the rich people. Also the story stated that at that time teachers, or scholars did not have to work any public service and the government could not even force them to do it. So the king changed that and he met the revolt from scholars. One more thing about the movie was that there was a student who went for a prostitute after his exam and people decided to failed him due to the old rules. The king saw that he had such a great talent and rejected that and appointed him as a great officer. So once again the king got to fight with the officer who did not even want to stand near the scholar or even drink with him to say goodbye.

Those stories might not happen quite often today and if you are an open mind you would see those are ridiculous. That is not the point I want to make. I brought up those examples to let you all see that in any time there always is a resistance to certain thing due to the rules of our minds. We all likely to act follow certain pattern that we form during our education which was formed long time ago and may not be updated. Those patterns can easily become the substance that ignites our reaction to certain situation which according to our books is wrong. I will call that is our psychological resistance or PR.
Our PR can not only form from our education but also from our assumption about certain thing. I know a friend who absolute believes that there is no such thing call corruption in US government. There is not such a person who works for the government and still public money without getting any punishment. Our assumption can come from things that we heard people talked about or even we just briefly read from a magazine or a book. If you want to understand more about this, one great example is Christianity or more general religions.
So is PR good or bad, and why do I want to talk about? Like I always say to everybody, everything is good or bad belongs to its degree. Just like in toxicology, a substance can only become toxic when it is applied at the right doses. PR can be good because it can make us function normally and will not be rejected by the society. A man can follow his PR and stand against gay marry without being call a fag or an ass hole. A woman can crying out loud to stop abortion and will not get shot by some angry parents.
However PR narrows our mind and sometimes provides us the wrong judgment. If you have learned about the eyes, you would know that we do not see everything with our eyes. Our eyes only catch certain points of the picture and save it like a file which can be used again in another situation. In many cases the file is right, but not all cases. There are many deceptive pictures if you want to look at on the internet some like a picture of all the straight lines but somehow u see they are declining. PR works the same on our brain. When you see certain and begin to judge it, your brain will start to run over the reference list and catches the pattern to give you a decision. Two examples can be seen at the pre US civil time with the patter black = slave and in World War II that Jews = gas chamber. Therefore it can really affect our decision and perspective on several events. I am pretty sure that if you hear the case about a 26 years old high school teacher have sex with her male student you would most likely say that she's guilty. I did exactly the same for the first 10 minutes. However later on I have different thoughts and decision. As you can all see, PR give you decision about thing unfairly, mostly base on your instinct and experience? We cannot see further than what we have seen therefore we cannot expand our mind into a different world. We cannot see others thing outside our focus region of the microscope that we are using to looking at our specimens. It leads to false decision, cruel action and slow down the development of our society. People sometimes look at the situation for only 2 secs give our decision without a second thought. It is not right and not very successful and has been the problems for all the wars and conflict in any scale of the society from world view, to personal discussion.

How can we reduce our PR? I would say keep thinking, and I will write the method that I want to talk about in my next blog. But from now, please let your mind open. Take all the nails of your thought off your neuron platform and let them free. Everything in life is like a rubic, you can never see its true color.
